Our mother, Shelley Ann (Walsh) Hinkle, 66, of Cashmere, WA, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017, surrounded by family, after a year-long battle with cancer. Born March 28, 1951, in Wenatchee, WA, to Elinor (Jurgens)
Walsh and Patrick Walsh, Shelley was one of seven siblings. She spent her early life on the family homestead, up Mission Creek in Cashmere, where she would go on to build her home and help build the homes of surrounding family
members. Shelley married John Hinkle, Sr., on June 18, 1972, and was blessed with five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Shelley truly was the rock of the family and often was the first person who reached out to others in times of need, as she would continuously open her home to anyone who needed a place to live. Due to her generous and loving spirit, even people not related to her would go on to call her mom.

A lifelong member of Our Lady of The Assumption Church and member of the Parish Council, Shelley was a devout Catholic and volunteered often in church programs, the church yard sales, and managed the church gift shop. She worked for years packing at the Fruit Exchange and Blue Star and went on to become Packing Supervisor. She also worked as a CNA at Epladalen and Blossom Creek. She spent 30 years involved with 4-H and with the Rabbit and Poultry Barn at the Chelan County Fair, where she was granted a ?Golden Pass? for lifetime admission, a pass they no longer give out. Shelley also was a huge fan of the TV show, Supernatural, and a proud supporter of their ?Always Keep Fighting? Campaign, which supports people struggling with depression, addiction, self- injury, and suicide. For Shelley, family and family history were her true passion. She spent her time with family, doing the things she loved most: gardening, scanning old photos and negatives to re-touch, spending endless hours researching genealogy, and creating books for family members with all their history and photos they never knew existed.

Shelley was preceded in death by her husband, John Hinkle Sr.; brother, Gene Walsh; and her mother and father. She is survived by her siblings: Larry Walsh, Joni Thomason (Paten Thomason), Patty Jones (Donnie Jones), Tony Walsh (Robin Walsh), and Jeff Walsh (Julie Walsh); children: John Hinkle, Jr., Omer Hinkle (Linda Hinkle), Diana Hinkle (Jason Abt), Patrick Hinkle (Bre Hinkle), and William Hinkle (Mike Blanco); grandchildren: Eric Hinkle, Josh Hinkle, Jacinta Hinkle, Amanda Whitman, Elizabeth Hinkle, Cameron Hinkle, Elijah Hinkle, Spencer Hinkle and Isaac Hinkle; and great-grandchildren: Tyler Whitman and Jeremiah Hein.

A Rosary will be held in honor of Shelley on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at
5:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, at
11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at Our Lady of The Assumption Church in
Cashmere, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: William Hinkle,
her son, and executor of her estate. Friends wishing to do so, may bring
flowers from their gardens to adorn the church. You are invited to view her
online guestbook at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com. Arrangements are in the
care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, Cashmere, WA.
